(Detroit, MI) -- A former Detroit high school teacher is making no apologies for intervening in a fight in her classroom. Tiffani Eaton used a broom handle to strike one of the ninth-grade boys exchanging punches to stop the violence earlier this month and lost her job as a result. Eaton spoke publicly for the first time yesterday, saying her actions were reasonable when considering the immediacy and her predicament.
On Tuesday morning, she was informed she will get her job back, and be granted back pay. According to WDVI, the schools principal supported Tiffani, and said she "should never have been fired. Period".
